Bruceton Mills, W.Va., October 11, 2016 — Clear Mountain Bank has appointed David M. Thomas as the bank’s new president and chief executive officer. Thomas will begin his new position with the bank on January 1, 2017.
“After careful consideration, the board of directors felt very strongly that David was the right person to lead Clear Mountain Bank as president and CEO,” said Roger Hardesty, chairman of Clear Mountain Bank’s board of directors. “He will provide continuity, stability, and a commitment to Clear Mountain Bank’s core mission of serving our customers as an independent, community bank.”
Roger Metheny, Clear Mountain Bank’s chief financial officer and interim CEO, echoed Hardesty’s comments.
“After conducting a search of potential candidates, it was clear to us that David was the obvious choice for this job,” said Metheny. “He’s worked closely with the bank and served on our board for many years. He understands our bank, our customers, and our communities. I can’t think of a better person to lead Clear Mountain Bank to continued growth and success.”
Thomas is a brother of Clear Mountain Bank’s former president & CEO, the late Brian F. Thomas, and he has served on the bank’s board of directors since 2003.
“I am both honored and humbled to be offered this position,” said Thomas. “While the circumstances leading to this opportunity are most difficult, I know that Brian would want us to not only move forward but to take Clear Mountain Bank to new heights. I look forward to working with the talented Clear Mountain team to do just that.”
Thomas graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in accounting, with summa cum laude distinction, and received a juris doctor degree from the West Virginia College of Law in 1996.
