Protecting Your Personal Information

Protect Your Information

At Clear Mountain Bank, we’re proud to provide you with anytime account access through SmartLink online banking.  SmartLink offers you the convenience of 24-hour banking, along with the safety and security of the VeriSign® SSL Certificate.  When you use SmartLink, you are entering a safe and secure area.

We are constantly monitoring, evaluating and upgrading our systems to ensure that your transactions are as safe and secure as possible.  For your protection, we have upgraded the log-in process for SmartLink online banking.  As a result, you will no longer be able to log-in to your account directly from our home page.

Internet scammers are becoming increasingly savvy and are utilizing techniques such as “Phishing” and “Spyware” to access the personal information of consumers.  Phishing is an email scam in which online predators send emails to bank customers asking them to verify personal account information.  Clear Mountain Bank will never send emails requesting your personal information.  Even if the email appears to be legitimate, do not answer it.  If you receive an email purporting to be from Clear Mountain Bank, do not hesitate to call us to confirm it.  Phishing scams can also try to direct you to a "fake" website that looks like your bank's own website but is not.  These phishing websites are used to obtain your log in information such as your user name and password.  This is why we have removed the log in from our main page.  If you have any questions about our site you may e-mail us at support@clearmountainbank.com

Spyware works by installing malicious software on your computer.  This can occur if you open an email attachment from an internet scammer.  The spyware can collect your personal information, such as account numbers and passwords, and send it to the scammer.  Avoid opening email attachments from unknown parties.

Clear Mountain Bank also recommends that you always log-in to your SmartLink account by first accessing our home page and then clicking on the “log-in” button.  In other words, you should refrain from “bookmarking” the User ID/Password page and accessing it directly.  We also recommend that you do not allow your computer to remember and automatically enter your password.  You should re-type your User ID and Password each time you log-in to SmartLink.

If you have forgotten your password, click here or call us at (304) 379-2265.  You can also email us at support@clearmountainbank.com.

Rest assured that your banking experience at Clear Mountain Bank is safeguarded to the fullest extent of available technology.
