U.S. Savings Bonds are going paperless!
As of Dec. 31, 2011, the Treasury Department is requiring that all savings bonds be purchased electronically. You will no longer be able to purchase paper savings bonds at financial institutions or through the mail. You can buy electronic savings bonds safely, 24/7, through TreasuryDirect by visiting www.treasurydirect.gov.
You can still redeem any existing paper bonds at any Clear Mountain Bank location. Existing paper savings bonds are valid issues of the Treasury Department and will earn interest for 30 years from the issue date or until redeemed.
