Clear Mountain Bank’s Gene Flinn Named Oakland-Mt. Lake Park Lion of the Year

Gene Flinn, Branch Manager of Clear Mountain Bank’s Oakland, MD office, has been named Lion of the Year 2018 by the Oakland-Mt. Lake Park Lions.
Flinn received this honorable designation at a ceremony held in December 2018 at the Oakland-Mt. Lake Park Lions Club, where he has been a member for 31 years. Most recently he served as past president from 2016 to 2017 and also as past board member for the organization.
Flinn is the branch manager of Clear Mountain Bank’s Oakland, MD office since 2015. He is a graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance. In addition, Flinn has also attended the American Banker’s Association (ABA) Commercial Lending School and the Commercial Lending Graduate School, as well as Maryland Banking School.
Outside of work, Flinn devotes numerous hours to other organizations in the Oakland community. Flinn serves as a board member of both the Foundation of Garrett Regional Medical Center and Southern Garrett High School Alumni Association.
A member of the finance committee at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Flinn has lived in Garrett County since childhood and currently resides in Oakland, with his wife Joyce.
About Oakland-Mt. Lake Park Lions Club
The Oakland-Mt. Lake Park Lions Club was established in 1940 in Oakland, MD. The club has more than 50 members and raises money by selling chicken dinners at the fair, food concessions at the Southern High Football Field, various fundraiser dinners, 5K race, the Grillin’ and Chillin’ event, plus many other activities. Each year the club conducts more than 500 vision screenings for Garrett County children in elementary schools, head start, and daycare. On average they donate $10,000 annually towards the purchase of eyeglasses for local individuals that cannot afford them. In addition, approximately $30,000 is donated every year to local organizations.
