Guard Yourself Against Spoofing

Clear Mountain Bank advises customers to always beware of scammers, especially spoofers. Spoofing, in general, is a fraudulent or malicious practice in which communication is sent from an unknown source disguised as a source known to the receiver. Spoofing is most prevalent in communication mechanisms that lack a high level of security, such as cell phones. If you receive a call or a text that appears to come from Clear Mountain Bank, be aware that Clear Mountain Bank will NEVER ask for your account login information, including your username, pin number or password. If in doubt, and to err on the side of caution, simply hang up and call the bank directly at 304.379.2265 and ask if there has been any issue on your account. Typically the scammer will say there has been fraudulent activity or that they need to check something on your account.
